Moscow: 2018’s Mission is Eradicating ‘Nusra’
Russian Chief of Staff, Army General Valery Gerasimov, said the elimination of Al-Nusra Front terrorist group in Syria would be completed in 2018.
In an interview published on Wednesday with the Komsomolskaya Pravda, Gerasimov said that Russia’s 2018 priorities in Syria would include political settlement to the crisis and “the completion of eliminating militants from Nusra and its affiliates.”

Bashir Discusses with Russia Setting up Military Base on Red Sea
Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir said he had discussed with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin setting up a military base on the Red Sea, adding that he had asked for providing Sudan with Russian defensive weapons to upgrade the army.

Lebanese Ambassador Presents his Credentials in Damascus
The new Lebanese ambassador to Damascus presented his credentials in the Syrian capital on Thursday, despite a wave of objections to his appointment, which came in contradiction with the Arab League’s decision to suspend Syria’s membership.
Ambassador Zakhia made his first statement in Damascus to Hezbollah’s Al-Manar channel, saying that he would seek to achieve both countries’ interests.
