French, European Fears From ISIS Comeback


The terrorism file returned to the forefront in Paris, and drove the attention of security officials after an ISIS extremist convicted of running a recruitment network in France, has been arrested in northern Syria.

The arrest of French national Thomas Barnouin, by fighters from the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) in the Hasaka area, revealed the presence of many ISIS cells that were capable to escape either from the hands of the Kurdish YPG units or from the Syrian army and their linked militias.

200 ‘Secret Bankers’ Facilitate Money Flow to ISIS


France has identified 150 to 200 “secret bankers” who have been facilitating the flow of money for ISIS in Lebanon and Turkey, announced the Financial Intelligence Unit (TRACFIN).

TRACFIN director, Bruno Dalles stated that the unit had worked on the identification of 150 to 200 of those individuals who are mainly based in Lebanon and Turkey who send money for ISIS enabling it to continue with its operations.

US Army to Fight Qaeda in Syria even after ISIS Defeat


Col. John Thomas, spokesman for the US Central Command (CENTCOM), said that the international coalition forces would remain in Syria to support the operations of the Arab-Kurdish “Syrian Democratic Forces” until the conclusion of negotiations on a political solution in Geneva.

He added that the US forces would continue to fight terrorist organizations close to “al- Qaeda” in Syria, including al-Nusra Front, “regardless of ISIS presence.”

‘Support for Lebanon’ Meeting in Paris Commits to Policy of Dissociation


France will host on Friday a meeting of the International Support Group for Lebanon, in the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron and Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri.

Egyptian Screen Legend Shadia Passes Away


Iconic Egyptian actress Shadia passed away on Tuesday at the age of 86 after a long battle with illness, leaving behind a glittering acting and singing career.

She passed away at a Cairo hospital after suffering a stroke and falling into a coma.

Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi and his wife paid a visit to the hospital upon hearing news of the actress’ deteriorating health.

Riyadh Urges Int’l Organizations to Probe Fate of Qatari Citizens Returning from Hajj


The Saudi-based National Society for Human Rights (NSHR) condemned the “flagrant violation of the human rights, beating, degradation and humiliation” of Qatari citizen Hamad Al-Marri after he returned from the annual Hajj pilgrimage.

Moroccan-Spanish Cooperation Dismantles Six-Member Terrorist Cell


Morocco and Spain announced on Wednesday the dismantling of a new terrorist cell consisting of six people who were planning to carry out major attacks in the two countries and training their members to slaughter.
