People Across the Globe Protest to Save the Environment
Hundreds of thousands of people in more than 90 countries are expected to take part in demonstrations this weekend to protest the failure of politicians to tackle the global environmental crisis.
Organizers say more than 800 events, including marches, street theater, acts of civil disobedience, and mini festivals will take place in towns and cities amid growing frustration at the lack of meaningful political action over the emerging climate breakdown.

Arab Coalition Thwarts Houthi Terror Attack in Red Sea
The Saudi-led Arab coalition thwarted on Thursday a terrorist attack by the Iran-backed Houthi militias in the Red Sea.
Coalition sources said that the militants sought to use a booby-trapped vessel in their attack.
The boat was launched from Yemen’s Hodeidah.
Houthis claimed through their media that their attack had succeeded and that the boat had sailed deep into Saudi waters, however, images obtained by Asharq Al-Awsat revealed that the vessel was seized and its explosives defused.

Egyptian Amputee Performs ‘Keke’ Challenge on One Foot
A video featuring an Egyptian youth, Mahmoud Abdo, known in local media as the “dancer on crutches,” went viral on social media after he managed to participate in the Keke challenge on one foot.
His friends praised his courage in defying his handicap by dancing beside the car on one foot.
Others, however, criticized him for encouraging people to violate traffic regulations and disregard warnings by police.

Asian Refiners Seek Middle Eastern Alternatives to Iran Oil
Asian refiners are seeking alternatives to Iranian oil from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Iraq after the United States pledged to renew sanctions on Iran, Kuwait Petroleum Corp (KPC) Chief Executive Officer Nizar al-Adsani told Reuters.
Speaking on the sidelines of an event in Beijing, al-Adsani confirmed KPC has increased output by 85,000 barrels per day (bpd) as part of last month’s agreement by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to raise output. Any further increases would depend on OPEC, he said on Monday.
