لعنة نقل السفارة تتواصل.. أميركا تغادر معاهدة دولية
أعلنت واشنطن انسحابها من البروتوكول الاختياري لاتفاقية فيينا الذي يقر بأهلية محكمة العدل الدولية في النظر بشكوى تقدمت بها فلسطين أمام هذه المحكمة احتجاجا على نقل السفارة الأميركية بإسرائيل للقدس.

Qatar Ends Support for Hamas Educational Institution in Gaza
Qatar has stopped its support for a Gaza educational institution affiliated to the Palestinian Hamas movement.
Palestinian sources told Asharq Al-Awsat that Doha had ceased its aid to Dar al-Arqam school over four months ago for reason that are yet to be revealed.
Qatar has been gradually decreasing its support for the institution for less than a year and the aid came to a complete stop some four months ago.

Tehran Strikes Kurdish-Iranian Party Meeting in Iraq
Sixteen people were killed and dozens injured on Saturday in missile attacks launched by Tehran on bases of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI) in the province of Koya, southern Erbil.
The party said a drone was flying above the PDKI’s headquarter where a meeting was taking place before it was attacked by Katyusha missiles.

Trump to Chair UN Security Council Meeting on Iran
US President Donald Trump is set to chair a United Nations Security Council meeting on Iran on September 26 on the margins of the 73rd General Assembly, which is set to kick off on September 18 in New York.

Exclusive: Jordan Mulling Russian Ideas on Voluntary Return of Syrian Refugees
Russia will help Jordan in repatriating Syrians after the regime of Bashar Assad controlled the provinces of Daraa, Qunaitra and Sweida in the country’s south, a Jordanian official said.
The official told Asharq Al-Awsat that Russia will repatriate 150,000 Syrians from Jordan by the end of 2018 after the establishment of a center near the border with Syria to process their paperwork.
State Minister for Media Affairs Jumana Ghneimat said the Russian proposal has been under discussion.

Russian-Turkish Coordination on Limited Idlib Battle
A Russian source told Asharq Al-Awsat Thursday that the expected visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to Ankara early next week comes in light of information about a possible agreement between concerned parties to facilitate the control of Syria’s Idlib province without causing huge damages.
Despite a Syrian military preparation to start the battle of Idlib, the Russian source said, “There could be an agreement to facilitate the takeover of Idlib without causing immense damages.”
